Balotelli, one of the most controversial figures in football ever. Personally before Euro 2012, I never really saw what all the fuss was about, never really rated him highly. I saw him as a young player seeking for attention, which he ended up getting though. It is quite an achievement to get so popular with so much media attention in football without actually doing much on the pitch. He has always set the media alight with all his tantrums and mischief. It got to an extent where much more attention was on his private life than his performances. He has had so many experiences and gotten into so many troubles, even with his teammates. Has been involved in fights at training with Kompany, Boateng, Tevez and Richards, threw tomatoes at a Serie A manager. The Italian’s car has been impounded 27 times. Seems absurd yet plausible in equal measures. Speaking of even more car troubles, he has coughed up more than £10,000 in parking fines. Was even charged £300,000 fine for throwing darts at the youth team.

These are just to name a few. He actually complains a lot about the media attention, while he is the one who keeps giving them stories. It would have helped if Mario did most of the talking on the pitch. Apart his Euro 2012 performance he has never really been consistent, he has always shown just few flashes of his potential, never hitting up to 20 goals a season. Mario has gone from being one of the hottest prospects to one being chased around in the transfer market by the likes of Watford. Last season he made 14 appearances, scoring just one goal. Mario also had the lowest shot conversion rate in Europe in his last season with Milan and provided just one assist in Manchester city. He scored 14 goals from 152 shots. That was actually his best individual season. More attention has actually been directed towards his performances on the pitch at Liverpool, yet he hasn’t lived up to the hype. At this stage it is difficult to find a big club of the size of Liverpool willing to take him in, he is one hell of a risk. Mario really has to step up, swallow his ego and find a way to get his career back on track if he actually wants to build a career as a great footballer and not to fall by the way side and be remembered as a great troublemaker. He still has time on his side to resurrect his career, whether he ends up moving to Sampdoria or Watford.

Very few big clubs would want balotelli, if any at all.

This is the Super Mario we all want to see again…..
